Two Arrested in Juhu for Murder Because They Thought Someone Was Doing Black Magic
On Sunday, in Juhu, Mumbai, two beggars were arrested. They are accused of beating another beggar to death. They said he was doing black magic. This sad thing happened near Willingdon Health Camp, on the sidewalk in Vile Parle. The man who died was 35 years old, and his name was Babu Mehtar.
What Happened
The police in Juhu said that the person who died, Babu Mehtar, and the two people arrested, Krishna Gupta (55) and Sonu Kanojia (45), were all beggars. They had been living on the same sidewalk for three years. The trouble started when Gupta said that Mehtar was using black magic against him. This got worse when they argued on Sunday night around 10 PM.
It is said that during the fight, Gupta got angry and hit Mehtar on the head with a piece of wood. Mehtar fell down. Kanojia also joined Gupta in hitting Mehtar. The police were called, and Mehtar was taken to Cooper Hospital quickly, but the doctors said he was dead when he arrived.

What the Police Did
The police quickly arrested the two men. A police officer from the Juhu police station, Narendra Namdev Teli, said that Gupta and Kanojia have been charged with murder. They were taken to a court in Bandra on Monday and will be held by the police for three days.

This shocking case of people killing someone because they thought he was doing black magic shows the bad side of believing in superstitions, being poor, and not trusting each other in the poor areas of Mumbai. The police are still investigating what happened.
