Eknath Shinde Says Mumbai Roads Will Be Pothole-Free by April 2027

Mumbai road’s : People who use Mumbai’s roads might finally have something to look forward to. The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, said that all of Mumbai’s roads will be made of concrete and have no potholes by April 2027. He told the media on Tuesday that his government has been working hard to fix the city’s roads since they took over in 2022.

Progress on Making Mumbai’s Roads Concrete

Shinde said that they are planning to make 700 kilometers of city roads concrete, and work has already started on 400 kilometers of them. He said, “Between December 2026 and March or April 2027, all of Mumbai’s roads will be concrete.”

To stop the roads from getting damaged often because of repairs, they are putting special pipes next to these concrete roads. Shinde said this is to make the roads last longer and be more convenient for people living in the city.

Political Opposition Criticizes the Deadline

Even though this news gives hope for better roads in Mumbai, some people are not so sure. People from the opposition and regular citizens have criticized the changing deadlines and are worried about how the work will be done.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a member of parliament, made a sarcastic comment on social media, saying, “This joke keeps repeating itself.” Janak Keshriya, a leader from another political party, questioned if the project was reliable, saying, “The dates keep changing… because the contracts were given to companies that didn’t have experience.”
